Workspaces, Sites & Affiliates

One workspace is one business. The business registers one or many websites (sites), and affiliates are granted access to the sites they promote.

The model

  • Workspace — a business or account. It owns one tracking ID, one currency, and all of the data below. A user can belong to several workspaces and switch between them from the workspace picker.
  • Site — a website/domain inside the workspace (e.g.example.com). Sites are managed underSettings → Sites.
  • Affiliate — an affiliate. Affiliates belong to the workspace and are granted access to specific sites. They sign into one portal and see only the sites they were granted.
  • Link — a short link owned by an affiliate, associated with one site. Attribution is scoped to the workspace, so a link correctly credits conversions wherever the customer converts.

Why sites matter

Before sites existed, the workspace itself was treated as one website. That forced a separate workspace (and separate affiliate rows, tracking IDs, and portal logins) for every domain. With sites, a business with several websites keeps them in one workspace: one tracking snippet, one login, and shared affiliates — while still reporting revenue per site.

Affiliate scoping

When you add or edit an affiliate, pick which sites they can promote. The affiliate portal then shows:

  • only the links on their granted sites,
  • conversions and commission for those links only,
  • an affiliate with no sites granted sees nothing (until they are granted access).

Linking a site

  1. Register the domain under Settings → Sites.
  2. Add the tracking snippet (Settings → Tracking snippet) to that domain. The snippet reports the hostname automatically, so deals and contacts are tagged with the site.
  3. Create links for affiliates and choose the site each link promotes.
  4. Grant affiliates access to the sites they promote.
